Missed the first part? Check out the 411 to Shopping at Rite Aid!
Rite Aid is a world within itself as far as coupons go. You can snag great items at very, very low prices each week.
Here are some frequently used terms when shopping at Rite Aid:
- VV- Video Value
- SCR - Single Rebate Check
- +UP Rewards - Rite Aid's "reward" money offered with the purchase of select items weekly/monthly. These items are usually highlighted in the weekly circular.
Video Values
The Video Values (VV) program is Rite Aid shoppers can watch exclusive advertisements for products and receive a coupon in exchange. In the past, Rite Aid offered a $5/$25 purchase coupon, a $4/$20 coupon, however, these have been discontinued. Now Video Values offers a $2/$10 purchase when you watch all the videos in certain categories each month.
Each month, Rite Aid releases a new set of Video Value coupons. Coupons are good for two months. For example, the April Video Value coupons (which were available to watch at the end of March, are good until the end of May). This gives you a lot of time to wait for the right deal.
On average, I would say there are easily 60+ coupons available each month in Rite Aid video values. Since Rite Aid does not typically release their own coupon circulars (although they do at times), this is the best way to get Rite Aid coupons.
Single Rebate Checks
Each month, Rite Aid releases a new circular of rebates for their Single Rebate Check program. Typically, they have $200+ in rebates offered each month, and several items are usually FAR. (Remember your coupon lingo? That means *FREE* After Rebate!) SCR's are usually only good on the exact specified product, so be sure and read the fine print when purchasing. SCR's are a GREAT way to maximize your savings at Rite Aid.
For example, in the past, I have been able to:
Purchase- 1 Benefiber at $9.99
Use 1- $2 Rite Aid VV coupon,
Use 1- $2 Manufacturers coupon.
Pay: $5.99, get a SCR for $2
Final cost: Only $3.99!
The program is very simple to use. Simply purchase the item listed in the circular, then when you get home log into the Single Rebate Check program and enter your receipt. Processing may take up to 2-3 days before you see the information added onto your account. At the end of the month, click "Claim your check" and your check will be on it's way! Simple, right?
+UP Rewards
Rite Aid offers +UP rewards when you purchase selected items, or complete various deals (Buy $15 worth of select items, get a $5 +UP) These +UP rewards are good as in-store coupons and have an expiration date. Sometimes even though the items were all purchased on the same day, the +UP rewards will have different expiration dates. Be sure and watch out for that. +UP Rewards are a way to sweeten a good deal even further, especially with coupons, and help turn an ordinary scenario into an awesome Money Maker!
For example, with the scenario above, if I was offered a $3 +UP reward with the purchase, I would pay $5.99 for the Benefiber, and get a $2 SCR, and a $3 +UP! That is like getting the Benefiber for $0.99! Yes, there are really deals that awesome at Rite Aid!
